Professor Frank A. Cotton

King Faisal Prize in Science 1990 Laureate

Topic: "Chemistry "

It is necessary that humanity pay great attention to our cultural, moral, and artistic life, so that we can maintain our human values as we wish them to be

Nationality: United States of America
Born: 9/4/1930, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America
Professor Frank A. Cotton was awarded the prize for being a renowned scholar in inorganic Chemistry, in which he published research on components containing many connections in transitional elements. He discovered new Chemical elements that contain quadruple links within their metal atoms. He examined those elements with X-ray crystallography, seismic spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. He researched quadruple links, such as the link connecting chrome atoms within wavelength of 1830 angstroms, which proved that multi-links aren’t restricted to light elements such as coal and oxygen. Professor Cotton was one of pioneering scholars in yeast construction and function.
