Professor Khurshid Ahmed was awarded the prize for his work in serving Islam and establishing Islamic Foundation in Leicester, which is an educational and research center that worked on enhancing the image of the religion. Professor Ahmed also chaired the international foundation for Islamic-economical studies in Pakistan, in addition to his remarkable efforts seen in the Scientific Council of the Political and Economical foundation at Georgetown University. He is one of Islamic group leaders in Pakistan, and a co-founder of the Pakistani Islamic movement; he participated in various lectures and seminars throughout the globe.
