Sheikh Abdullatif bin Ahmed Alfozan was awarded the prize for his significant efforts in adopting distinctive approach to philanthropic work by supporting high-impact initiatives aligned with developmental needs, and by establishing the “Ajwad Endowment” as a community support for creating and developing humanitarian initiatives. These efforts include establishing numerous Islamic centers, building and refurbishing mosques and water wells across various Islamic countries and communities; restoring numerous schools and setting up residential endowments for students in several Arab countries; founding the Alfozan Center for Women and Children and the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center in Al-Zulfi to support people with special needs; establishing the Abdullatif Alfozan Autism Center (Afaq) in Al-Khobar, which received accreditation from the British Autism Association; establishing and supporting Alfozan Academy, dedicated to developing leadership in the non-profit sector through research, initiatives, and capacity building programs; and launching the Abdullatif Alfozan Global Award for Mosque Architecture, along with the publication of the Digital Encyclopedia of Mosque Architecture (Mosqpedia).
